On Friday 10th February we celebrated House Day.  Pupils dressed in their House colours – Red for Lancaster, White for York and Blue for Tudor.  The theme of the day was the Six Nations Rugby Tournament and we made fantastic flags of each country involved.  We had a House General Knowledge Quiz, which was great fun.  Tudor House won the quiz and was presented with the trophy.

On Friday 24th February, Form I celebrated their assembly by telling us all about mindfulness and how powerful a positive approach can be. Instead of thinking ‘This is too hard’ or ‘I give up’ FI asked us to consider thinking ‘I’ll use a different strategy’ or ‘This may take some time but I will get there’. They told the wonderful story of The Dot, written by Peter Reynolds. The girls gave excellent examples of how practice and trying hard has helped them to overcome difficulties and has given them the confidence to do well. Very well done to our FI girls for such a fantastic performance. Thank you to Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Hammond for organising the assembly and to all the parents and friends of FI who were able to attend.

On Wednesday 22nd February, we celebrated World Thinking Day by inviting our pupils to wear their Guiding uniforms. We had a wonderful array of Rainbows, Brownies and a Beaver to represent Scouting. Our very own Mrs Bolton, Cheam Division Commissioner, led a fascinating assembly of what it is like to be a member of uniformed groups in 2017.  The girls were keen to share their very positive experiences of being a member of Girlguiding – making new friends, being part of a wider family, participating in outdoor activities and getting busy with arts and crafts to name but a few! The girls renewed their Promises and thoroughly recommended Girlguiding to their classmates.

This Week Nursery took delivery of ten eggs.  Over a few days all ten eggs hatched safely and we had Easter Chicks to look after.  We had to be very careful, as they are so small and fluffy.  We were very proud to show them off during our Open Mornings.  We took them to every class so that all Seaton House pupils could see them.

This week our pupils enjoyed a day of DT and Lego. Throughout the day, Junior House and Senior House learned how to construct an entire Lego village – houses, rooftops, roads – the whole infrastructure was there! We are delighted to report there are several budding architects and engineers here at Seaton House.

FII performed the most amazing Assembly this morning, to celebrate Chinese New Year. The girls all remembered their lines and they even sang in Chinese. Well done everyone and thank you so much to all the parents who came to watch us.

Congratulations to Isabelle H in FIII. Not only did she receive her times tables certificate this morning, she also received a commendation from Mrs Morrison for her excellent friendship skills. Well done Isabelle.
