Maths Enrichment Day. Today the girls enjoyed a fantastic day of challenging puzzles and activities for our Maths Enrichment Day. The day involved pupils from Reception to Form VI participating in problem-solving tasks run by The Happy Puzzle Company, whereby the girls encountered a variety of fun, but challenging 3D hands-on puzzle tasks, which they had to complete in teams. Staff members from NatWest Money Sense also came in to run activities based around financial manag…ement. For the younger pupils, it was simple coin recognition and counting and paying and getting change. The older girls learnt more about saving, making responsible money choices, budgeting and keeping money safe at home or in a bank. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the Maths Enrichment Day and had fun whilst learning how to apply maths to the real world. Huge thanks to Mrs Hossenbux for organising such an informative and fun day.
As part of our Harvest celebrations, this afternoon FVI went to Eversfield House to entertain the elderly residents. The programme of events was devised entirely by FVI. The girls told jokes, read poems they had written themselves, they sang harvest songs and played musical instruments. The elderly residents were cheered and impressed by the girls’ wonderful performance. Not only that, but the girls took flowers and gifts for the residents and donated the wonderful Harvest Loaf from Stennings Bakery. Thank you girls for your outstanding performance and thank you to Mrs Wilson, Mrs Payne and Mrs Freeman for accompanying the girls to Eversfield House.
This morning both Junior House and Senior House celebrated their Harvest Assembly. Thank you to all our parents for coming to support us this morning and for the generous donations of food to help those who need it most. Thanks also to our fantastic POSH team for providing the teas and coffees and to Stennings the Bakers for the wonderful Harvest Loaf which sits at the heart of our display. We learned that we are lucky to have a harvest to celebrate and that there are still too many children in the world who do not have enough to eat. Very well done girls for two such wonderful and powerful assemblies.
