Christmas has arrived here at Seaton House! Our lovely Winter Wonderland Fair on Saturday has put us all firmly into the Christmas Spirit. Our wonderful POSH team worked tirelessly to transform the cabin into Santa’s Grotto and the school hall into a Winter Wonderland of stalls selling lovely Christmas fayre. There were donkeys for the children to ride, a Grand Raffle and a Christmas Bake-Off, judged by our very own Mrs Morrison and Mrs Evans, Chair of Governors! Very well done to the winners and to all our bakers whose cakes were hugely appreciated in the refreshments room. Thank you so much to POSH and SHS staff who turned up, pitched in and helped to make the day a huge success.
Today was Science Day at Seaton House. We donned our virtual reality goggles and flew to Mars and Jupiter. We made our own stars, we did Space Coding with Scratch and we learned how to apply to fly to the moon. We all want to be astronauts! Thank you Mrs Brooks for organising such an inspirational and super-cosmic day!
Yesterday, 35 girls from Seaton House and Rowan School competed in a gymnastic floor competition in the school hall. The girls performed a set routine on a strip of mats in front of lots of parents, siblings and grandparents! All the girls showed fantastic skills and courage and Seaton House won the competition overall. Congratulations girls! Very well done. Huge thanks to Mrs Mannooch and Mrs Fairweather for organising the competition.
Thank you everyone for contributing so generously to our children in Need Appeal today. All of our pupils and staff wore something spotty to help fundraise for this fantastic cause. We raised at least £140 with, hopefully, more to come. Recently, we ran a competition for fundraising ideas and the winning girls held a whole school assembly this morning The girls’ ideas for helping children in need were inspirational, ranging from making breakfast for their parents to holding raffles and cookie sales to help raise money for children in this country and around the world, who need our help. The girls showed us their Wishing Tree – where they can write their hopes and dreams for others on to a leaf and attach it to the tree. We hope all of the girls’ wishes come true. Thank you to Miss Goodsell and Mrs Cooper for organising this lovely Children in Need Assembly – even Pudsey turned up to show support!
Many congratulations to our FVI netball stars for their wonderful performance this afternoon at the annual Seaton House Gladman Tournament. The girls were fantastic hostesses to their friends from seven other schools and they played superbly, winning four matches, drawing one and losing only two, to come joint second overall. Mrs Morrison was delighted to award our girls their well-deserved silver medals. Congratulations to Aberdour who won the shield. Junior House and Senior House turned out in force to support our girls and we were all so proud of our team. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to organise this event – Mrs Morrison, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Payne, Mrs Ruddock, Mrs Fairweather and Miss Parker. Thanks also to Mrs Hossenbux who almost froze to death keeping score and to our amazing POSH team who kept everyone supplied with tea and cake. What a wonderful afternoon! Well done girls!

About the School
Seaton House School was founded in 1930 and has grown and thrived over the past 85 years. We are a member of IAPS, the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools and are regulated by the ISI the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
We are a small, friendly and nurturing school with a keen eye on the academic, sporting and artistic accomplishments of our pupils. We strive to bring out the best each girl can be and celebrate her achievements both at school and in extra-curricular pursuits. Year on year, we are hugely proud of the successes of our Form VI leavers as they embark on their senior school careers. Confident young ladies, well prepared to face new and exciting challenges having benefited from, what we believe to be, simply the best of starts in their education.
