Rain? We didn’t even notice! This morning we held the Grand Opening of our lovely, new Early Years Centre. Thank you so much to all our parents and friends who came to help us celebrate. Our Nursery and Reception pupils wore their Easter Bonnets with style and guided their parents around to see all the wonderful things we have been doing in Early Years. Then we had tea and cake – thank you to everyone who supported our cake sale, which was held to raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer. Thank you to all Early Years staff who helped to organise such a lovely event. Happy Easter everyone!

Seaton House has been fundraising for Sport Relief all this week this week and have participated in some fun activities: hula hooping, skipping, Boogie Thursday and Footie Friday. FIII – FV also took part in today’s Sport Relief Challenge at the swimming pool. They participated in wiggle races and hunting for sinkies and loose change and using the floating mats! Great fun, for a fantastic cause. Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising activities this week.

Today was DT Day. We were engineers – we learned to build pyramids and how to make a marble run. We built structures with straws and made bridges and cake stands. We faced cardboard box challenges and enjoyed learning how to successfully package chocolates. It was a wonderful day. Thank you Mrs Baker.

Our FV and FVI girls faced lots of challenges during last week’s trip to the Isle of Wight, and, in true Seaton House style, conquered their fears of heights, the dark and swimming in a very cold sea. Mrs Wilson said she could not be more proud of our girls. They had a fantastic time

This week FIII and FIV have learned all about the ancient Egyptians. We have learned to write our names in hieroglyphics, we have made amulets, necklaces and Egyptian masks and we have learned all about the River Nile and the pyramids. We acted out a play from Ancient Egyptian times with a theatre company and we held our own Ancient Egyptian Olympics.

We did it! We have smashed this year’s target £2,018 and have raised an incredible £3,079, with more pledges to come. Thank you so much to parents, family and friends who have donated to this worthwhile cause and left those vital messages of support for our girls. Every pupil, from Lower Nursery to FVI, has participated in this event to help raise money to beat cancer. The rain did not dampen our spirits as we walked together to the Royal Marsden Hospital. Every penny, every small step counts. Thank you to every pupil for participating and to all the parents who turned out to help this morning and accompanied us on our march and to the staff who coordinated this amazing event. Thank you everyone.
