This afternoon, Reception Class invited parents to our special assembly, a lovely, joyful celebration of all the wonderful things we have done during this academic year. We song lots of songs – some in French! – and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to all our parents who came to watch us. Happy holidays!

This morning, Form V invited us to their assembly on strong women we admire – famous actresses, doctors, politicians, sportswomen – strong women, often from very poor backgrounds, who have worked tirelessly to help others, to make the world a better place and to become the leaders of their field. We then looked at our teachers and staff and all their wonderful qualities that make Seaton House a very special place. Then we decided that the real superheroes are our mums, our lovely mums who love us unreservedly and who support, encourage and help us in everything we do. Thank you mum. xxxx

Earlier this week, Lucius Felix Sylvanus, a Roman Centurion, came to Seaton House to tell Senior House pupils what is was like to be a centurion in Roman times. He told us all about life in the army and about living in a Roman villa. He showed us how to prepare a feast, including salad in an elephant’s trunk, peacock’s brains and for dessert, honeyed dormice. This was a fantastic, funny and very informative morning. Thank you Mrs Wilson for arranging it for us.

On Saturday 23rd June, we held our annual Summer Fete. Thanks to POSH, who worked tirelessly to transform our field into a scene from the Wild West, we dressed up as cowboys – and girls! – we rode on the bucking bronco, we explored the visiting fire engine and learned what it is like to be a firefighter, we held a bake-off competition and we demonstrated our gymnastic and musical theatre skills. It was a wonderful afternoon and the weather was perfect. Thank you so much to all our parents and to the staff at Seaton House who worked so hard to put on such a fantastic afternoon.

This morning, Form III held a wonderful assembly about endangered species and what we can do to help protect them and preserve our planet. The girls have done their research and came up with lots of ideas – we can recycle more, walk instead of driving and think carefully when buying souvenirs – no ivory! We wore animal themed clothes with snakes winding around our shoulders to make our point, and parents helped by participating in our quiz. Thank you girls for giving us lots to think about, to our parents for coming to support us and to Mrs Baker for organising such a thought-provoking and informative assembly.

This morning, Junior House held their annual Sports Day on the field. The weather was perfect. We had so much fun on space hoppers, sack racing, sprinting and doing obstacle races. Thank you so much to Miss Parker for organising such a fun-filled and exciting event, to all the staff who came to help, to all the parents who came to cheer us on and to our FVI girls who helped to look after the JH little ones throughout the morning.

This morning, Senior House held their annual Sports Day at the David Weir Sports Centre. In perfect weather we sprinted, ran relays, did egg and spoon races, ran hurdles, obstacle courses and lots more, spurred on by all the parents, and some very special visitors, who came to watch and support our girls. A picnic on the field was followed by more races and prize giving. Very well done to all the girls who took part. Thank you to all our parents and to all the Seaton House staff who came to help. Special thanks to two FVI girls who showed true Seaton House Spirit by helping out, even though they could not participate and to Miss Parker for organising such a superb event.

Friday night was Royal Wedding Disco Night at Seaton House. We wore our best princess outfits, we had our nails done and we donned our tiaras for an event that would make the Royal Family proud!

Form II really got into the spirit of the Royal Wedding today and had lots of fun making crowns, masks and bunting and practising our royal wave. We had a lovely day.

Today we went kayaking and did lots of team building exercises, in the sunshine. We’re going dry slope skiing later. We are having a wonderful time.
