Welcome to the Seaton House website where visitors can get a sense of the wonderful environment that our girls (and Nursery aged boys) enjoy!
Our aim is to provide a thorough educational grounding for all our pupils in a secure, disciplined but friendly and caring school society. From the children joining us as rising three years old into our Nursery, through to our senior girls in Form VI, we are committed to ensuring each child receives the best we can offer to grow and flourish during their time at Seaton House.
Our highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, whether it be in the Nursery, Junior House or Senior House, strive to create a stimulating teaching environment where small class sizes ensure all our children have the necessary individual attention and encouragement to achieve their full potential.
Character development and pastoral care are also top priorities within the school setting. All members of staff, take a keen interest in supporting girls as they learn essential life skills to become happy, successful and confident adults. Courtesy, respect, kindness and tolerance of others is expected as the norm and we encourage our pupils to develop initiative, independence, self-discipline and a pride in all that they do. We thoroughly prepare our older girls for a smooth, confident transition to their chosen Senior School.
I am always delighted to meet parents and personally show them around the school. You can see at first hand what a very special place this is and how we can provide your child with the very best of foundations as they start their school life.
Mrs Debbie Morrison, Headmistress
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website. Occasionally, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a pupil’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be detrimental to the child’s welfare. We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are: Mrs Debbie Morrison, (Headmistress), Mrs Lesley Wilson, (Deputy Headteacher) and Mrs Sarah McGreevy, (Deputy Headteacher).
